Hair removal. In search of smooth skin
People who want their skin to look smooth and beautiful this summer are better off using proven methods, such as shaving and cold or warm waxing.
New pulse light treatments and light lazer hair removal methods currently being offered by cosmeticians are not as effective as their advocates make them sound, according to Germany's consumer center in Stuttgart. "Many of these offers are expensive, but regretfully have little effect," says cosmetics consultant Hanne Vedder. The various light treatments, including laser and pulse light, do not destroy all hair roots, but the treatments are intended to permanently remove hair. This is not always covered in the consultation prior to treatment, says Vedder.

Aside from shaving and waxing, there are methods, such as tweezing and depilation. Chemical hair removal, such as creams and foams, are as a rule aggressive and are hard on the skin.It surely can make you feel better about your skin.

The desire to remove excess or dark hair usually begins in adolescence and seems to continue until the day we die. Whether it is hair on the face, armpits, legs, bikini line, or other body parts, many women AND men are intent upon having the hair on their scalp be the only visible hair on their bodies. With the emphasis on smooth, hairless skin, it is interesting to note that excess hair, especially in women, is still a taboo subject.

There are many options available to remove unwanted hair, but few options to get rid of hair permanently. The different methods of hair removal from the old stand-by, shaving, to the new treatments, lasers and Vaniqa, are discussed here. Each person should chose a method or combination of methods that works best for them depending on cost, time available, skin type, and the desired hair-free area.

Understanding how hair grows helps us understand how to keep hair from growing. Hair in the anagen phase is more susceptible to injury than hair in the telogen phase. All of these factors must be considered when choosing a method of hair removal.
